Car sought in hit-and-run on CR 550N

The Daviess County Sheriff's Department is seeking information related to a car and buggy accident on CR 900E.

According to a release from the department, at 12:45 a.m. Monday, a caller reported an accident in front of K&K Industries on CR 550N at around 12:45 a.m.

Deputies found a horse and buggy driven by Martin Devon Knepp, 18, Montgomery, was struck by an unknown late model Oldsmobile heading west on CR 550N.

Knepp was taken to Daviess Community Hospital where he received treatment for cuts to his face and head. He was later released. The horse was slightly injured but the buggy was considered a total loss.

An investigation is continuing, but detectives are asking for information concerning a late 1980s or 1990s Oldmobile Ciera or Regency Elite. A witness said part of the vehicle was painted silver and some parts were painted white. Pieces of the car were found at the scene of the accident

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the department at 254-1060.
