A body was found at the White River Friday afternoon near the location of a missing Illinois woman.
A release from Indiana Conservation Officers Friday evening said a resident discovered a body on top of some corn stalks in a creek that feeds into the White River.
Officers did not confirm the body to be Cathryn McGill, 31, Des Plaines, Ill. An autopsy will be performed in Evansville on Saturday.
Law enforcement, firefighters and volunteers have been searching the East Fork of the White River since Dec. 29, when McGill went missing when the truck she was in on SR 257 with her husband, Adam McGill, 35, was swept off the river in high water
Hunters watched the truck enter the river and was able to save Adam, but could find Cathryn. An extensive search of the area took place in the days following the incident and continued the search when allowable. Early searches found personal items of Kathryn.
The McGills were visiting family members before the accident.
