City, county and state police are trying to piece together the events that left one person dead.
According to police documents those events began around 2:13 a.m. Friday morning when they received a call of a shooting in the 2200 block of Oak Grove Road. The report described two vehicles had stopped at the Ebenezer Church. A pair of gunshots were heard and one vehicle, described as a silver or gold Cadillac then fled the scene.
When police arrived they found the windshield on the car left behind had a gunshot through it.
About 10 minutes, later police received a report that someone had left a gunshot victim outside of the emergency room at the Daviess Community Hospital. The emergency room staff worked on the victim for about a half hour before he was pronounced dead.
Police identified the victim as Devan Burris, 17, Washington. They have not identified the persons taken into custody or their charges
Police took two people into custody a short time later in connection with the case, but it was unclear whether they were suspects.
