The Daviess County Commissioners lifted the burn ban on Monday, for at least a week.
County residents may now burn without restrictions, but city residents cannot burn due to local ordinance. Commissioners said they had received several phone calls on burning, especially after the rain fell the past week.
The rain was one of the most lively topics at Monday’s meeting, with several jokes and at one time, a smattering of applause was heard on the news of Monday morning’s rain.
The commissioners will revisit the ban on Aug. 20.
