---- — As part of its commitment to promote positive male involvement in the lives of young children, Pace Head Start and Early Head Start will be hosting F.U.D.G.E. Week Feb. 17-20 at 2103 Cosby Road, Washington.
F.U.D.G.E. Week stands for “Friends, Uncles, Dads, Grandfathers, ETC.” Pam Padgett, Washington Head Start site manager said, “Pace Community Action Agency understands the importance of having positive male role models in the lives of all children. We are inviting all of our male family members as well as any males from our community to come to our center during F.U.D.G.E. Week or any other time during the school year. You can visit and/or volunteer at any Head Start/Early Head Start location.”
There are many opportunities for men to volunteer with Head Start and Early Head Start. Reading to the children, completing art projects, helping to prepare or serve lunch, or just singing and dancing with the children are just a few ideas. “Staff and children love to have visitors, and we love the chance to show off our excellent learning facility,” says Padgett.
