Shot Clinic at DCH
The Daviess County Health Department will offer immunizations for children younger than 19 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Dr. Holsopple's office; from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 21 at Country Health Clinic on Cannelburg Road; and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. March 25 at Odon Community Building. Insurance will be accepted. Children who have no health insurance or if insurance does not cover vaccines may still obtain the vaccines at the health department by calling 254-8666 to schedule an appointment for immunizations. Immunizations are done daily from 7:30 a.m .to 5 p.m. at the health department.
New requirements for the 2014 school year:
Kindergarten students will need two does of Hepatitis A; seniors will need a second meningitis vaccination if the first meningitis shot was given before their 16th birthday.

Retired Teachers to meet
Daviess-Martin Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon March 7 at Ponderosa in Washington. All area retired teachers are invited to attend.
Red Cross blood drives
The Daviess County Chapter of the American Red Cross is sponsoring the following blood drives in March. They include:
March 3 — Williams Bros. Health Care, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (closed to the public)
March 4 — Barr-Reeve High School, 627 N. Third St., Montgomery, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
March 22 — Antioch Christian Church, 3007 E. U.S. 50, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
March 26 — Washington Nursing Center, 603 E. Nat'l Hwy., noon to 4 p.m.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, and cannot have given blood in the past 56 days. The Red Cross is especially low on Type O+ and O-, but all types are desperately needed.
