---- — Vincennes University Scholarships: New online scholarship application process. The Vincennes University Foundation announces the launch of its first-ever online scholarship application process. Incoming and current VU students should visit and click “apply for Scholarships” to apply for financial assistance. All students should complete a scholarship application, regardless of academic standing and financial status, according to the VU Foundation. Applicants are also urged to make note of deadlines and plan to turn in all applications no later than one week before each deadline. Although the Foundation awards scholarships throughout the academic year, applications received prior to the Jan. 15 deadline receive priority consideration for the following school year. Knights of Pythias-Grand Domain of Indiana Educational Assistance Scholarship: Requirements: senior in high school or home school, resident of Indiana, GPA of 3.0 or above, submit transcript and SAT/ACT scores, must be registered in accredited college or university. Scholarship award amount is $1,000. Applications available at (click on “forms” on the left buttons…then on public form/rules). Deadline: Jan.25

They are also offering a Poster/Visual Arts Contest. First place is $500. Open to any student enrolled in grades 9-12 in any Senior High or Parochial School in Indiana or homeschooled who are equivalent age. Foundation for Rural Service RTC Communications Scholarship: FRS will award thirty $2,500 college scholarships. Should a student from our service area (home phone number must start with 388, 444,486,644, or 687) be selected to receive one of these thirty national scholarships ($2,000 each); RTC Communications will make a $500 matching contribution to the scholarship, bringing the total one-time scholarship award to $2,500. It should be noted that preference will be given to individuals expressing an interest to return to work in a rural area following graduation. Students may also be eligible for four FRS Staurulakis Family Scholarships valued at $5,000 each. Students who are majoring in math, science, engineering, or medicine are given preference for this scholarship. In addition, two $1,500 TMS scholarships will be awarded. Completed applications must be signed by RTC office for sponsor certification before they are mailed into FRS. Eligibility: graduating high school senior, US citizen, sponsored by a current NTCA member, accepted by an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school, C average, and express an interest to return to a rural community following graduation. Peter Pasula Study Habits Scholarship: One $500 award. To be eligible for the Study Habits Scholarship a student must: be attending an accredited post-secondary institution by the fall of 2014, enrolled at any level in any program that is two years in length or longer and must answer the essay question on the website online application form. Maple Leaf Dentistry Scholarship: One $500 award. To be eligible a student must be attending school at the undergraduate level in the fall of 2014 and can be enrolled in any year of their undergraduate program. High School seniors who will graduate in 2014 are considered eligible. If you are attending a trades and/or technical school, the program must be at least 2 years in length or longer. Student must have done at least 100 hours of volunteer work over the last 2 years. You are required to name someone in the organization that can verify the time you spent participating in volunteer activities. We will only contact the individual you name in the event that you are chosen as the winner. Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in his/her last academic year.
