Library programs for January

Library programs for January

The Washington Carnegie Public Library will offer the following programs in January. Call to register at 254-4586.

Lego Club on Jan. 2 from 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. for children 6 years and older to build, create, and have fun around a monthly theme.

Registration is NOT required for this event.

Preschool Power for 4-5 year olds on Jan. 7, 14, and 21 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Great stories, songs and early literacy learning will take place. Registration is required.

Skype with author Margaret Peterson Haddix on Jan. 28 from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Upper elementary age students and older are invited to visit with Mrs. Haddix.

This event is free to the public but registration is required.

Redevelopment Commission to meet

Washington Redevelopment Commission will meet at 4 p.m. Jan. 2 in Council Chambers, 200 Harned Ave.

Items on the agenda include:discussion/approval of claims; elect officers for 2014; appoint member to downtown development zoning district; discussion of reporting the Department of Local Government and Finance.

Library takes tour

Washington Carnegie Public Library will explore the interiors and grounds of Syon House, the London home of the Duke of Northumberland, at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6. Registration is required. Contact Rick Chambon at the library, 254-4586.
