Commissioners to meet on Monday

Daviess County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Monday in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse. Items included on the agenda: schoolguard E911 fund; 2014 primary election voting locations; interlocal agreement between board of commissioners and city; Cannelburg Road contracts.

City Council to meet

Washington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Council Chamber, 200 Harned Ave. Items included on the agenda: ordinances addressing grass, weeds and rank vegetation in the city, amending fees related to electrical services, billing and collection procedures related to sewers in the city, fees related to garbage and refuse, and charges related to water service; 2013 annual report.

The Board of Public Works and Safety will meet immediately following the Council meeting.

Items included on the agenda: discussion of water system improvements project; request to close mains street from East Second to West Fourth on may 17 and 18 for spring fest event and beer garden/blackjack tables; discussion of revised procedure for utility hook-ups outside city limits; discussion of emergency vehicle preemption contract with VS Engineering, Inc.; open bids for furnishing of asphalt paving for 2014.

Barr-Reeve school board to meet in Alfordsville

Barr-Reeve school board will meet in executive session at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss a job performance evaluation. The open session will be at 8 p.m. at Alfordsville United Methodist Church, 6600 S. Church St., Loogootee.

Items included on the agenda: student wellness policy; professional development; software systems agreement; student handbook.

County Council on Wednesday

Daviess County Council will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse. Items included on the agenda: schoolguard E911 fund; request for additional appropriation.

WHS orientation Tuesday

Washington High School freshman orientation for current eighth graders will be held at 6:30 p.m Tuesday in the WHS auditorium. The registration and scheduling process for 2014-2015 will be discussed. Enter the school in Gate 4 or Gate 5.
