Health and wellness educators throughout southern Indiana are invited to attend the Teaching Healthy Living Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 3 at the Washington Park Community Building, 501 Burkhart Drive, Washington.
The workshop will focus on wellness education topics such as: new and emerging tobacco products, media influence on health decisions, healthy eating, and physical activity.
Throughout the day, participants will hear presentations and participate in interactive demonstrations that teach state health and wellness standards. Each participant will receive a kit with the resources they need to incorporate the information and activities from the day into their classrooms. Participants will also receive a certificate for 7 Professional Growth Points.
Partners hosting the workshop include the Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalitions of Daviess, Knox, and Lawrence counties, Purdue Extension, Hoosier Uplands, Vincennes University, Daviess County Health Department, Local Coordinating Councils of Daviess and Knox counties, and Healthy Communities Partnership.
