Special program at museum

The Daviess County Historical Society quarterly program series returns March 22 with a special tour of the Daviess County Museum featuring a visit from three historic personalities, a soldier from George Rogers Clark’s company, President Abraham Lincoln, and a 19th-century schoolmarm.

Tours begin at 4 p.m. and new tours will be available at 15-minute intervals through 5:30 p.m., with a reception to afterward.

Tickets for members of the DCHS cost $10 for singles and $15 for couples. The non-member price is $15 for singles and $25 for couples.

Load limit lifted

The Daviess County Highway Department lifted the 10-ton load limit on all Daviess County roads beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Hatchet banquet set for Thursday

The Washington High School boy’s basketball banquet will be held at 7 p.m. March 20 at Bethel North Church.

WCS board sets meeting

Washington Community school board will meet in executive session at 6 p.m. Thursday to receive information with respect to any individual over whom the governing body has jurisdiction. The regular session will be at 7 p.m.

Roundtable to meet Monday

The Daviess County Civil War Roundtable will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Daviess County Museum, 212 E. Main St. Dan Gress will be the guest speaker covering the Civil War in the West. All interested persons are welcome.
