City Council to meet

Washington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers, 200 Harned Ave. Items included on the agenda: resolution to transfer fund in the engineering department; ordinance providing for payment of expenses related to economic development tourism and health.

The Board of Public Works and Safety will meet immediately following the Council meeting. Items included on the agenda: discussion of bids on hydraulic device, bullet proof vests for police department, employee wellness program, salary/position change in police department, telephone system consulting services, and contract for US 50 relocation project.

Pike School Board to meet

The Pike County School Board will meet in executive session at 5:30 p.m. Monday. The open session will begin at 7 p.m.

Fund raiser at Stop-N-Sea

There will be a fund raiser for Byron “DJ Dogg” Swartzentruber from 11 a.m. until food is gone Sunday at Stop-N-Sea in Montgomery.

On the menu: chili, hot dogs, desserts and drinks. There will be raffles and t-shirts available.

Swartzentruber was seriously injured in an automobile accident, leaving him unable to work.

Palmer at Christian Church

Lester D. Palmer, president emeritus for the pension fund of the Christian Church will speak Sunday during the 10:15 a.m. worship service at Central Christian Church, 10 W. Van Trees St.
