The Washington Times-Herald

---- — Junior high and high school students all across southern Indiana will participate in the 30th Annual Team Crane Science and Engineering Fair at the WestGate Academy on April 23.

Approximately 75 participants have submitted their self-made projects for judging at the WestGate Academy for a chance to win awards and cash prizes from multiple sponsoring organizations and private donors.

Participants have entered projects in the following categories: consumer science; behavioral science; biology; chemistry; inventions; medicine; and physics.

Awards and cash prizes will be given out to the top three in each category for Junior and Senior divisions. Additional awards will be presented by the Crane Employee Organization Team (CEOT).

Team Crane is committed to promoting this event and associated Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs that spur student interest in careers that will cultivate the workforce for the next generation.

New this year will be STEM showcases that allow WonderLab, NSWC Crane, academia/universities, and technology companies to present hands-on demonstrations and innovating technology. Also for the first time this year, Project Lead the Way students from Owen Valley will be in attendance to get a first-time experience of NSWC Crane, including presentations from NSWC Engineers.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to come out and support their child.
