WMI holds April meeting

---- — The Women’s Ministry International of the Free Methodist Church met April 8 in the church fellowship hall. Mary McCall was welcomed back and opened the meeting with prayer.

Kay Roach led the group in sing. Minutes were read by Betty Wilz. Treasurer’s report was given by Charlotte May. The Women of Faith retreat in September was discussed. The church van will be driven by Drew Best. Any tickets not purchased by this group will be extended to other churches.

The program on Women of Faith was given by Amy Best with the help of Drew Best. It was a preview of speakers on “Believe God Can Do Anything.” Unexpected storms need a strong foundation of Faith, Love, Peace and Hope. The deadline for purchasing tickets is June 19. It was decideded to have a fund raising dinner for part of the expenses between June 19 and the date of the retreat.

Prayer requests were given and Esther Fleetwood prayed for them. Hostesses were Patty Sumner and Jane Indahl. Sandy Traylor reported on the upcoming election dinners. The menu for the meals was decided on. Melissa Hooten and Chastity Barker will be in charge. Workers are needed. Helpers and drivers announced were Amy, Bailee, Carli Best, Bernadette Clarke, Sandy Traylor, Melissa Hooten, Patty Sumner, Chastity Barker, Vicki, Alice Fitzgerald, Carol Gregory, Joyce and Eddie Martin.

Others attending were Marcella Pruiett, Margaret Grow, Velma Corn, Sue Fox, Alice Baker, Sue Hopkins, Nina Lytle, Martha Hand, Connie Robinson, Lily Hooten, Kaitlyn Barker and Rosia Fig. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. May 15.
