---- — American Red Cross event Saturday at the Hatchet House

The American Red Cross will be collecting monetary donations at the Washington Hatchet/North Daviess basketball game Saturday at the Hatchet House. Red Cross staff and volunteers will be stationed at the gates to accept the donations.

The Red Cross has been helping families affected by the recent Daviess County Tornado for a couple of weeks now and we are still trying to help them get back on their feet. We receive no government funds but rely on the public to support our humanitarian efforts. All basketball fans are attending the Dec. 7 game are encouraged to come prepared to participate in the fundraising event. Checks should be made out to the American Red Cross. All donations will be used by the Red Cross to provide its valuable services not just to disaster clients but to all clients we will have in the future. Washington tornado benefit concert and dinner Saturday

A benefit chili supper and concert will be held Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. Overbored, Jenna and Joe, Michael Cochren Band and Joe Dillon will all perform during the concert portion of the event that will be held in the Harvest Community Fellowship gym located at 200 W. Main St. Cost for the meal and concert is $5 at the door. Cost for the the concert only is $3. Chili and cupcakes will be prepared by Lyndsey Harner of Reid’s Deli.

LCS Board meeting

The Loogootee Schools Board will meet in an executive session Monday at 5 p.m. The session will be to train school board members with an outside consultant about the performance of the role of the members as public officials.

Pet pictures with Santa at Orschelen’s

Friends for Animals will be offering pet pictures with Santa this Santa Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Orschelen Farm and Home located in Cherry Tree Plaza. The cost will be $5 for two 4x6 photos. For more information contact Bill Remsburg at 765-404-2939.

Red’s Rocking Christmas Show

Tickets are on sale now for Red’s Rockin’ Christmas Show this Sunday (Dec. 8) at Vincennes University’s Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. The evening features a 7:30 p.m. (EST) performance by Terry Lee and Rockaboogie Band playing holiday favorites from the 50s and 60s.

The evening will include appetizers and cash bar beginning at 6 p.m., including final silent auction bidding on 30 holiday wreaths donated by area organizations and individuals. The cutoff for the wreath bidding will be at 7:15 p.m. prior to 7:30 p.m. show.

Rev. Gail Green to speak Sunday at Full Gospel Chapel

The Full Gospel Chapel will be having the Rev. Gail Green as a guest speaker bringing the morning message Sunday at 10 a.m. Rev. Green was formerly a pastor at the Assembly of God in Petersburg and the former youth pastor at Oasis Assembly of God in Princeton. A dinner will follow after. The public is invited to attend.
