Baby contest to end

Daviess County Right To Life wants to emphasize that voting for its Annual Face of Life Baby contest will end promptly at 8 p.m. Monday. Voting is available electronically online at www.daviesscountyrtl.com with a $1 per vote minimum of $5 per transaction. Since this is near the end of contest, voting should be done electronically as the date appears on the transaction.

An individual not connected with the Right To Life Baby contest will post the final results to the website as soon as possible after the 8 p.m. deadline. Please note it may take a few minutes to get the final results posted but if the donations are date stamped by 8 p.m. Monday they will be counted. The contest winner will receive $100 as well as being honored as the Right To Life Baby of the year and the picture will be used in our events for the coming year. Second place will receive $50.

Hope House opens Saturday

Hope House, 704 W. Walnut St., will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to share free food and clothing. Hope House is a ministry of Church on the Way.

Hospital board meets Tuesday

The Daviess Community Hospital board of governors will meet in executive session at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The open session will be at 9:30 a.m.

Catfish run on July 5

The annual Shoals Catfish 5K run and walk will be held July 5. Pre-registration should be received by Wednesday. Call Shellie Bradley at 812-709-1069 for more information or to register. Cost is $17.

Chamber art class on July 10

The Daviess County Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau will sponsor Art Class and A Cocktail on July 10 at the Padaco Event Center from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Cost is $35 and includes all supplies. A cash bar will be available. Call the Chamber at 812-254-5262 to reserve a spot.

MP reunion slated in Jasper

The 324 MP DEP (PWIC), formerly of Jasper, is having a reunion for all former members and their guests. The reunion will be held July 13 at the Jasper Outdoor Recreation Club, four miles north of Jasper on Hwy. 231, beginning at 1 p.m. A picnic lunch will be provided. Bring your own drinks.
