Barr-Reeve School Board meet

The Barr-Reeve Community School Board will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. for an executive session followed by a regular session at 8 p.m. Items on the agenda include cafeteria food bids, lunch prices, textbook rental fees, fiscal year 2015 budget calendar, and school owned route bus driver daily pay increase.

City of Washington auction slated

There will be a public auction by the departments of the City of Washington on Friday, July 11 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Electric Department Garage at 2113 Memorial Avenue.

Special Ed Co-op to hold consultations

The Daviess Martin Special Education Co-op will be conducting a consultation meeting on July 24 at 9 a.m. at the Daviess Martin Special Education Co-op, 9 W. Main St., Washington. Any parent of a student who is homeschooled and qualifies for special education services is invited to attend. All administrators from any private school should also plan to attend. This includes students who live in Washington, North Daviess, Barr-Reeve. and Loogootee school districts. Information will be given and discussed pertaining to special education services provided to home-schooled and private school students by the Daviess Martin Special Education Co-op according to Indiana Article 7.

City offices and departments closed

All city offices and departments will be closed on Friday in observance of Independence Day. There will be no trash pick-up and the city bus will not be in operation. The Recycling Center will be closed both Friday and Saturday. Residents with Friday trash pick-up should have their trash ready for pick up by 7 a.m. Monday. Contact the Street Department with questions at 812-254-4564.
