Donate to tornado relief efforts

---- — Daviess County Organizations Active in Disaster is taking monetary donations for local tornado disaster relief. Checks may be sent to United Way of Daviess County (marked “tornado relief”), P.O. Box 224, Washington IN 47501, or dropped off at the United Way office, located at Home Building Savings Bank. Applications for those who may need assistance are available through Daviess County Connections, by calling 257-2650.

The DCOAD grew out of the Daviess County Long-Term Recovery Committee formed in 2008. The mission is “To meet the need(s) for ongoing coordination and preparedness among communities (in Daviess County) by providing volunteers, financial, spiritual, physical and/or psychological support for individuals whose lives have been ravaged by a natural disaster in Daviess County; to provide collaborative leadership in the discernment of long-term needs for recovery and rehabilitation that can be most effectively met by this community. This mission is established to prepare, protect and care for the citizens of Daviess County before, during and after a disaster.”
