Raffle tickets available

There are still a few tickets remaining for the Washington Catholic spring raffle. Grand prize is a 2014 Nissan Versa or $12,000 plus four other prizes. Tickets are $50 each and only 850 will be sold. The drawing is Thursday night at the Knights of Columbus hall. Call 812-254-6618 for more information.

King to lead stroll

A spring stroll will take place on Sunday at Ouabache Trails Park near Vincennes, with Naturalist Terri King. Meet in front of the park office before 2 p.m. The walk is suitable for all ages. The first part will be an easy walk, starting on Trail 1 near the office. Those who would like to walk farther will continue on Trails 2, 4 and 5, where there is some uphill and downhill. Come and enjoy this beautiful woodland and see what is happening in the spring.

WCPL Earth Day on Saturday

Saturday will be Earth Day Exploration: Fun and Education at the Washington Carnegie Public Library, 300 W. Main St., from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be displays, games, crafts and free tree seedlings. In addition, the Washington Household Hazardous Waste Center will be collecting electronics for recycling and expired or unused prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, needles and inhalers can be brought in for proper disposal.

ND FFA barbecue on Saturday

The North Daviess FFA will hold its annual chicken barbecue on Saturday in Plainville, across from the Post Office. Chicken will be ready at 11 a.m. until sold out. There will be halves of chicken and turkey strips available. Proceeds from the sale will be used for the FFA to attend the State Convention in June as well as other chapter activities.
