Opell reunion meets at Eastside Park

The descendants of Leander and Rosa Opell met for their 90th annual reunion on Aug. 25 at the Washington Eastside Park in the Kiwanis Cabin.

The table blessing was given by Don Opell. After the meal, a representative of each family introduced their family and told how they were related.

The afternoon was spent in conversation and picture taking. The anniversary cake was baked and decorated by Don Opell.

Attending were Mike and Karen Clark of Elberfeld; Brad and Mary K. Stoermer, Aiden and Hudson Stoermer, all of Evansville; Carl and Judy Grow, Sam and Norma Phillips, Doug Opell and Ryan Opell, all of Indianapolis; Terry and Janet Thomas of Montgomery; Dan and Teri Opell, Lynsey Opell and Dylan, Aaron and Emily, all of Newburgh; Kelly Campbell and daughters Emily, Kelsey and Katie of Petersburg; Don and Marilyn Opell of Vincennes; Frankie Huebner, Linda Harritt, Kevin and Jaime Huebner, Steve and Paula Thomas, Alan and Jennifer Skomp and Hannan and Owen, Julie Opell, Katie Klym, Eben Duncan, and hostess Barbara Huebner, all of Washington.

Next year the reunion will be Aug. 24, 2014, at the Washington Kiwanis Cabin.
