Cosby named regent of Daughters of Isabella

The Daughters of Isabella have elected a new slate of officers for the term 2013-2015. Newly elected officers are Pat Cosby, regent; Phyllis Daily, vice regent; Roberta Smith, past regent; Vicki Marchino, recording secretary; Jane Hoevel, treasurer; Lea Ann Taylor, financial secretary; Karen Taggart, auditor; Millie Rice, auditor; Donna Kenworthy, auditor; Irma Kavanaugh, chancelor; Lynn Smith, custodian.

The Daughters of Isabella is a charitable organization for Catholic women in the area which serves Montgomery, Loogootee, Vincennes, as well as Washington. The main focus of its charity is the St. Elizabeth Home for unwed women in Indianapolis since the beginning of the local circle in the early 1900s. Not only does it support St. Elizabeth but also donates to many local charities such as Red Door Industries, Pregnancy Care Center, Right to Life, Mass of the Radio, Washington Catholic School Social and the WC library, Generation/Build a Basket program at Christmas, among other worthwhile charities.

The Daughters of Isabella invites Catholic women of all ages to be a part of the organization. The meetings are once a month on the second Tuesday at 7 p.m. There are two dinner meeting a year, one in May to commemorate the anniversary of the club, and one at Christmas. Interested women wishing to to know more about the D of I are asked to call one of the officer.
