Scholarships being awarded

Daviess County students are invited to apply for a variety of community scholarships awarded through endowment funds held by the Daviess County Community Foundation.

Students may apply for the scholarships through the Daviess County Community Foundation’s website at www.daviesscommunityfoundation.org. Deadline for applications is Feb. 1, 2014.

Details about each of the awards are posted on the website as well as eligibility criteria and application instructions.

Hope House will be open Saturday

Hope House, 704 W. Van Trees St., will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to give free food and clothing to anyone in need. Hope House is a ministry of Church on the Way.

Veale Creek to present play

Veale Creek Theater presents “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Nov. 29, 30 and Dec. 1. Friday and Saturday show are at 7 p.m. Sunday shows are at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $10 at Hibbet Sports.

Harvest Fellowship to present musical

The Harvest Christian Fellowship, 200 W. Main St., will present its fall musical “Under God’s Sea in 3D” at 6 p.m. Friday and at 3 p.m. Saturday. The musical features students from first grade through high school, with a special appearance by the prekindergarten and kindergarten class in one song. There is no cost to attend, though a love offering will be taken.

Redevelopment Commission to meet

The Daviess County Redevelopment Commission will meet at 8 a.m. Monday in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse.

Commissioners to meet

Daviess County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Monday in the Commissioners’ Room at the courthouse. Items included on the agenda: COBRA insurance renewal; county EDIT lease rental bond of 2011; certification of officials regarding nepotism policy and contract disclosure policy; appointments.

Senior and Family Services Activities

Monday — Golden Living Center bingo, 10 a.m; arm chair exercise, 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday — Movie and snack, 9:30 a.m.

Wednesday — LinCare bingo, 10 a.m.

Closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
