David K. Lynch and McKinley Vance Memorial scholarship deadlines nearing

---- — The David K. Lynch Memorial endowment fund held with the Daviess County Community Foundation is making a scholarship award available to graduating seniors of all Washington, Washington Catholic, Barr Reeve, and North Daviess High Schools. The award amount is $350.

Established by Cathleen M. (Lynch) Kendall, in memory of her husband, the fund awards an annual scholarship to seniors who also attended Lena Dunn Elementary School.

Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale and plan to attend a two- or four-year college or university in Indiana. Students who have received or have been named to receive full-tuition scholarships are not eligible for this award.

The deadline for applications is Feb. 1, 2014.

The McKinley Vance Memorial endowment fund held with the Daviess County Community Foundation is making a scholarship award available to graduating seniors of any Daviess County school who have been active in 4-H. The award amount is $1,020.

Established by Lucille Vance in memory of her husband, the fund awards an annual scholarship to a graduating senior who plans to further their education in the field of agriculture.

Applicants must have participated in 4-H for at least four years and be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a college or university pursuing a degree in the field of agriculture, such as farming, agricultural sales, agricultural research, veterinary science, agronomy, animal science, or related fields. Past recipients may reapply; however, renewal awards are not guaranteed.

The deadline for applications is Feb. 1, 2014.
