Radio club holds August meeting

---- — The Daviess County Amateur Radio Club held its regular monthly meeting Aug. 13 at the American Red Cross building in Washington with 14 members and one guest present. President Todd Riker called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. The treasurer’s report and minutes of the July meeting were approved.

Items on the agenda included a summary of the club DX contest with first place awarded to Leo Costello; beginning a new contest for a Worked All States award using the club call sign; finalized plans for the trip to Spring Mill State Park where the group will be on the air for Indiana State Parks on the Air on Sept. 8; and plans for a joint picnic with Old Post Radio Society of Vincennes on Sept. 21 at Eastside Park.

The meeting was adjourned with some members enjoying dinner at a local restaurant. The next regular meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the American Red Cross building. Guests are always welcome. For more information visit www.daviesscountyarc.org.
