Saturday's Area Briefs

City Council meets Monday

Washington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers, 200 Harned Ave. Items included on the agenda: resolution authorizing submittal of Community Development Block Grant; final reading of ordinances clarifying employee health insurance, fixing compensation of officers, employees, firefighters, police officers and elected officials, and amendment to sick leave; request to transfer donated property for construction of water tower.

The Board of Public Works and Safety will meet immediately following the Council meeting. Items included on the agenda: discussion/approval of claims, agreement for grant administration, and salary/position change in the electric department.

Odon library board to meet Tuesday

Odon Winklepleck Public Library will hold a public hearing for the 2014 budget and the library internet policy at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the library and the Board of Trustees will meet at 5:45 p.m.

City planning commission to meet

The Washington Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Council Chambers, 200 Harned Ave. for a public hearing to discuss changing the zoning boundaries for the two mile area.

Neat Feet Clinic

Daviess Community Hospital’s Neat Feet Clinic will be providing feet assessment and nail trimming Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Senior and Family Services. Appointments must be made by calling 254-8855.

Senior and Family Services activities for next week

Monday — Hillside Manor bingo, 10 a.m.; arm chair exercise, 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday — Movie and snack, 9:30 a.m.

Wednesday — Parkview Village bingo, 10 a.m.

Thursday — Bible study, 10 a.m.; Crochet Club, 1 p.m.
