  • Martin County has 50 percent turnout
    SHOALS — All but one incumbent won in Tuesday’s Martin County primary election.
    Incumbent Larry Craney for Loogootee School Board was the one left out as 50 percent of registered voters turned out for the election, 78 percent of those voted on a Democratic ballot.
    In the Democrat primary, incumbent District 3 commissioner Mike Dant beat Michael Milligan, 1,546 to 1,063. Dant goes on to face Ed Seals in the general election.

  • Incumbents lose in city school board races
    The Washington School Board will have three new faces when it meets in July, as incumbents Ron Arnold, Rocki Padgett and Randy Bouchie were upset in Tuesday’s Primary Election.

    Daviess County primary elections brought out 40 percent of voters Tuesday, according to Clerk Sherri Healy, yet the process went smoothly.

    INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis architect Jim Schellinger led former congresswoman Jill Long Thompson by fewer than 6,100 votes Tuesday night in a tight race for the Democratic nomination for governor.
