Colts big spending done

(Continued)

INDIANAPOLIS — "What we have coming back and then adding Gosder [Cherilus] and Donald [Thomas], it’s hard to find guys like that. It’s hard to get them in here. Again these guys did a tremendous job and I feel great about the group," Pagano explained.

"Adding those two guys to the mix, again, our top priority is we’ve got a really special guy under center [quarterback Andrew Luck]. When he’s upright, he’s healthy and we keep him clean, then we’re going to continue to win a lot of football games around here. So adding those two guys was huge and paramount to us moving forward in our success.”

In other topics, second-year quarterback Chandler Harnish will move up to be the primary back-up to Luck.

The team's former No. 2, Drew Stanton, signed a free agent contract with Arizona on Wednesday.

Neither Grigson or Pagano ruled out the possibility of bringing in a veteran quarterback at some point as an insurance policy.

"As time rolls on here, we’re going to look and see who shakes free, look at our situation, and just keep evaluating. Again, it’s the conversations Chuck and I have and just looking at the big picture. What do we feel is going to get us where we want to go?," the Colts general manager said.

"I’m talking to that very last man even all the way through the practice squad. That’s how we rolled last year and that’s how we’ll roll this year.”
