WASHINGTON — Notice is hereby given that sealed bids in duplicate for:

Demolition of Existing Buildings

SIDC / FRRS / Ride Solution

1015 & 1017 E. Main Street

Washington, Indiana

shall be received at the Office of the Executive Director until 12:00 Noon, Local Time, on Thursday, April 5, 2012.  Bids that are delivered via U. S. Mail shall be mailed to the Office of the Executive Director, Greg Jones, SIDC, P. O. Box 442, 405 JFK Ave., Loogootee, Indiana 47553. Bids delivered via means other than U.S. Mail shall be delivered to 405 JFK Ave. Loogootee, Indiana 47553. Bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud at 1:30 p.m.. Bids received after 12:00 Noon, Local Time, Thursday, April 5, 2012, shall be returned unopened.

Should the bid be delivered any other way than “hand carried”, it is the bidder’s responsibility to make sure that his bid is at the Office of the Executive Director prior to the set bid time.

Any bid that is mailed, federal expressed or sent by any other carrier must be in the Owner’s possession at the bid time to be accepted. Any bid not in the possession of the Owner will be returned unopened. (FAXED bid will not be accepted.)

The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or waive any informality or errors in bidding for a period of sixty (60) days after bid opening.

This project is being funded through a contract between Southern Indiana Development Commission (SIDC) and the Indiana Dept. of Transportation (INDOT) and funding is provided through the Federal Transit Administra-tion (FTA) under the authority provided by 49 U.S.C. §5311. Potential bidders shall comply with all applicable Federal requirements.

PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF BIDS

Bids shall be executed in accordance with the attached Proposal Form, Questionnaire Form 96A (or certified CPA Financial Statement) and accompanied by a satisfactory bid bond or deposit, payable to SIDC / FRRS / Ride Solution for not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price and delivered in a sealed opaque envelope addressed to Office of the Executive Director, Mr. Greg Jones, Southern Indiana Development Commission, P. O. Box 442, 405 JFK Ave., Loogootee, Indiana 47553 and showing bidder’s name and address, name of project and contract(s) bidding.

Should bidder withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after opening date without written consent of the Owner or fail to execute a satisfactory contract within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance, the Owner may declare the bid deposit forfeited as liquidated damages.

Contractor receiving award shall furnish at the directive of the Owner, an approved Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount at least equal to 100% of the contract amount. Owner will pay for bonds upon furnished receipt of cost for same.

The two housing units to be demolished are located at at 1015 & 1017 E. Main Street, Washington, Indiana 47501.

OBTAINING BIDDING DOCUMENTS

One complete set of Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Office of the Architect for a deposit of $50.00. Full amount of deposit will be returned to each bona fide bidder who returns bidding documents (plans and specifications) within fourteen (14) days after date of bidding. Any non-bidder will forfeit his deposit.

Supplementary sheets of drawings and specifications for subcontractors or suppliers shall be obtained by paying actual cost of drawings reproduction of $3.00 per sheet and specification reproduction of twenty-five cents per sheet. Persons requesting supplementary sheets must be responsible for determining the sheets required. No refund on supplementary sheets.

MINIMUM WAGE RATES

Wage rate to be paid under this contract shall satisfy the wage rate as required by the Depart-ment of Labor.
