Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputy David Fleming was injured in a crash Monday.
At 3:37 p.m., the Indiana State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of CRs 350E and 100N.
They found that Fleming, 46, was driving his 2005 sheriff’s department Chevrolet Silverado south on CR 350E when a westbound 1995 Toyota driven by Paige M. Harrawood, 16, Montgomery, failed to yield the right of way at CR 100N. Harrawood’s Toyota hit Fleming’s sheriff’s department truck in the passenger’s side, causing the truck to spin into the ditch.
Fleming was transported to Daviess Community Hospital for injuries to his chest, neck and back and was listed in stable condition. Harrawood was not injured.
“Fortunately, both drivers were wearing their seatbelts,” said Senior Trooper Gaven Wilson. “The seatbelts definitely reduced and prevented further injuries.”
Assisting the investigation were the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, Washington Township Fire Department, Southwest Medical Services and Craney’s Body Shop.
