“Pirates in the Park,” will be the theme for this year’s Taste of Daviess County. This community social event is hosted by the Daviess County Family YMCA and is now in its 16th year.

The event will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 27 at the Community Building in Eastside Park. Proceeds from this event will support a variety of charitable youth programs the YMCA conducts.

The social event includes a variety of foods from local chefs, grocers and restaurants. Ticket buyers get the opportunity to sample the foods that each business has chosen to prepare.

As in years past, food selections will include new items, long time favorites, specialty items and creative displays. The YMCA has once again partnered with the youth at the Power House and the Washington High School NJROTC to help serve at the event.

Participating vendors are Fazoli’s, Pizza Hut, Etienne’s Farm Market, Jay C Food Store, Wendy’s, Odon Essen Haus, Linco Services, Subway, Taco Bell, Black Buggy Catering, Knepp’s Restaurant, Ponderosa, Carla’s Catering & Creations, Perdue Farms, Scoops Ice Cream, Honey Baked Ham, Taste of the Orient, Dogwood Catering, Black Buggy Restaurant, Black Buggy General Store, Fat Boys, and IGA.

Prizes have been donated by area businesses.

Each ticket holder will receive a fortune cookie which might reveal winners of the door prizes, including baskets, floral arrangements, pool parties and many more gifts.

Tickets for the Taste of Daviess County are currently available at the Daviess County Family YMCA, 405 N.E. Third Street, and can be purchased by calling 254-4481.

Cost is $15 per person, $25 per couple or $30 per family.

All proceeds help youth programs.
