North Daviess High School to graduate 72

— North Daviess High School will graduate 72 seniors at 7 p.m. May 23 in the high school gymnasium.
The valedictorian address will be given by Hannah Scudder, while Olivia Graber and Brooke Wittmer will give the salutatory address.
The Class of 2008 will be escorted in by Blane Lawyer and Erin Wilson.
The high school choir and band will perform, and Graber will give the welcome and introduction. Lauren Beasley will have a reading and Brittany Clark will introduce guest speaker Randa Brocksmith.
Taylor Englehart will introduce Christi Wilson, who will give the faculty challenge. Audrey Johnson will give the response to the faculty challenge. Nicole Willis will have a PowerPoint presentation.
Principal and vice principal, Jed Jerrels and Jeff Doyle, will present the class and their diplomas, along with class sponsor Nicole Cook.
Elizabeth Fitzgerald will present a gift from the senior class.
The senior class unanimously voted to include student-led prayer as part of the ceremony. Kayla Burns will give the invocation, while Jenna Schaffer will give the benediction.
Hannah Scudder
Scudder, the valedictorian, is the daughter of Doug and Glenda Scudder of Odon. Her most current accomplishment has been to participate in the International Science Fair in Atlanta, Ga., which she gained by advancing through the Evansville Science and Engineering Fair. She participated at the Crane Science and Engineering fairs as well as being part of the Indiana Junior Academy of Scientists, where she made top 10 Outstanding Junior scientist and also top 12 in the research competition.
A member of the ND Science Olympiad team, she was proud when her team advanced to the State Science Olympiad competition where she placed first in the electric car event and fifth in remote sensing.
She has attended the IAM Youth Summit hosted by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute; been president of the Science, BETA and JUMP clubs as well as being involved with Student Council, where she was senior vice president. She also participated and worked at Red Cross blood drives and was in Physics Club, jazz band, school musicals, track and field, and volleyball.
She plans to attend Purdue University as an education major.
Olivia Graber
Graber, a co-salutatorian, is the daughter of Martin and Angela Graber of Montgomery.
She is the president of the senior class and is active in student council, band, jazz band, and tennis. She is a member of Beta, Red Cross, Science, JUMP, and Drama clubs.
She attends and is a member of Providence Mennonite Church.
She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana where she will pursue a degree in nursing.
Brooke Wittmer
Wittmer, also a co-salutatorian, is the daughter of Nelson and Theresa Wittmer of Odon. She is active in Science and Beta clubs, Bethel Youth Group, cadet teaching, yearbook staff, and is a four-year participant in basketball and softball.
Her future plans are to attend Vincennes University to study nursing.
