Washington Catholic High School will graduate 20 seniors at 1 p.m. May 24 in the high school gymnasium.

Fr. Gordon Mann will give the invocation, followed by introductory remarks by Principal David Memmer.

Then the class valedictorians, Meredith Deem and Garrett Smith, along with four salutatorians, Veronica Burris, Kelci Prewett, Alex VanNice and David Wichman, will give their addresses.

Dr. Phyllis Bussing and Memmer will present scholarships, and Bishop Gerald Gettelfinger of the Evansville Diocese will offer the commencement remarks. Gettelfinger, Bussing and Memmer will present the graduates and confer the diplomas.

Valedictorian Meredith Deem is the daughter of Dr. Darrell and Shelly Deem. She plans to attend Indiana University to pursue a degree in English literature.

Valedictorian Garrett Smith is the son of Jeff and Angie Smith, and he plans to attend Indiana University to seek a degree in chemistry.

The daughter of Craig Burris and Debbie Burris, Veronica Burris is a co-salutatorian. She plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana, where she will seek a four-year nursing degree, then receive a nurse practitioner degree.

Co-salutatorian Kelci Prewett is the daughter of David and Rita Prewett. She plans to attend Hanover College for a degree in geology.

Van Nice, also a co-salutatorian, is the daughter of Isaac and Trista Van Nice, and she plans to attend Indiana University for a degree in finance.

David Wichman, a co-salutatorian, is the son of Mark and Debbie Wichman. He plans to attend the University of Evansville for a degree in engineering.

Members of the Class of 2008 include Matthew David Bezy, Ronald Edward Bozarth II, Veronica Lynn Burris, Jodie Anne Carie, Meredith Purcell Deem, Zachary David Fisher, Jessica Marie Flynn, Jordan Ann Flynn, Cameron Dean Graber, Samantha Jo Hogan, Scott Thomas McDonald, Casey Louise Morgan, Kelci Lee Prewett, Erica Ann Purdue, Natasha Reneé Richardson, Dylan Joseph Seidel, Garrett Doyle Smith, Alexandra Kayla Van Nice, David Andrew Wichman and Adrian Johnston Wilson.
