The audience will be led in the “Pledge of Allegiance” by Elizabeth Goodwin, class treasurer, and Courtney Graber, class secretary, followed by the high school chorus singing “The Star Spangled Banner.” Opening remarks will be given by Haley Kavanaugh, class president, and Kacie James, class vice president. Special music selections during commencement exercises will be performed by the band but spotlighting senior band members; vocal music will be sung by the senior chorus members by the high school chorus under the direction of Joyce Hawkins.

The salutatory addresses will be given by Murphy and Rademacher, and the valedictory addresses to be given by Bault, Cangelosi, Helms and Kavanaugh.

The presentation of special awards will be made by high school Principal Travis Madison followed by the presentation of diplomas by Dr. Brian Harmon, Barr-Reeve superintendent, and school board members, Galen Graber, Joe Cummings and Scott Lottes. A Power Point presentation spotlighting the Class of 2009 will conclude the commencement ceremonies.

The Barr-Reeve senior class of 2009 has chosen the pink stargazer lily as the class flower. The class colors are baby blue and dark brown. The class will graduate under the motto “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door!” The class sponsors are Bryan Hughes, Annetta Graber and Mandy Hannah. Other class officers are Trey Showalter, student council treasurer; and Ashley Wagler and Eric Blair as student council representatives.
