Head Start takes the fun outdoors Washington Head Start children, teachers and volunteers recently had a day of fun and fitness outdoors. As part of celebrating head starts Take It Outside Week, children participated in parachute games, an obstacle course, painting, pumpkin rolling and many other outdoor activities. Classroom activities were enjoyed in the fresh air with the children dancing to the music, playing instruments and being read to by the teachers. National Head Start Body Start encouraged Head Start Centers across the nation to get outside, connect with the natural world and increase physical activity.
