---- — ODON — An Indiana State Police tactical team was used to arrest an Odon man Friday morning following accusations he beat a pregnant woman.
Ronald G. Williams, 55, 14254N 1250E, was arrested by state police on several charges in connection with a domestic dispute. According to a press release, two people approached Trooper Kurtis Blunk at Chuckle’s gas station in Odon.
They told Blunk about their friend, a pregnant woman, was allegedly beaten by Williams at the house.
Blunk found through an investigation the woman, who is four months pregnant, had been beaten in the stomach by a vacuum cleaner. Williams also allegedly shot a shotgun at the woman four times.
An arrest warrant was served for Williams at his home. T
he state police Emergency Response Team served the warrant to him.
Although Williams came out of the home with a shotgun, he surrendered to troopers without struggle.
The release said an unknown amount of methamphetamine was found at the house.
Williams was charged with battery on a pregnant woman, possession of methamphetamine, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and reckless possession of paraphernalia.
He is being held at the Daviess County Security Center on $1 million bond.
