---- — ELNORA — The North Daviess boys basketball team entered Saturday’s game looking to snap its three-game losing streak.
North Daviess (6-8) were unsuccessful in its attempt for the first win since Jan. 17 over Shakamak as it lost 69-50 to Evansville Bosse.
The Cougars jumped out to an early lead behind two Dusten Cook 3-pointers in the first quarter to go with two points each from Brady Helms, Alex Wittmer and Kelby Byrer and led 12-10. The second quarter, however, was a different story. Bosse outscored the Cougars 18-11 to take a 28-23 lead at halftime. Perry Fairow scored seven points in the quarter lead the Bulldogs and Bo Berkhart added five points.
In the third quarter, Bosse outscored the Cougars 24-11 to push its lead to 18 points, 52-34. Fairow added eight more points in the quarter to pace the Bulldog offense. Cook added seven more points including his third 3-pointer of the night. Bosse won the final quarter by just a 17-16 margin to close out the 19-point victory. Cook led North Daviess with 15 points, Byrer had 12 points, Zach Moore and Wittmer had seven points each and Brady Helms had four.
