Odon gets NewWave upgrade

The Washington Times-Herald

---- — After a substantial NewWave Communications plant upgrade, Odon residents are now able to enjoy faster internet speeds than have ever before been available in addition to phone service, Whole Home DVR and a full digital and High Definition television lineup.

Current customers may have noticed a realignment of their channels, now grouped by interest, in addition to 75 new, digital channels. High Definition channels and DVR services are also available with corresponding equipment.

High-speed internet speeds of up to 50 Mbps are also now a reality to residents in the Odon, Elnora, Plainville, Westphalia, Newberry and Sandborn. Phone service has already been launched in Odon with plans to bring the service to Elnora, Plainville and Newberry in the coming months.

Delivery of these services from a single provider means more savings for local residents, according to John Brinker, NewWave general manager. “NewWave is excited about delivering a better customer experience. Our goal is to make sure customers receive the best products at the best value,” said Brinker. “We are rolling out new internet, TV and phone bundles that are helping people stay connected as well as save money. With NewWave, customers can count on new technology, superior service, better reliability and a great price.”

The Odon-area upgrade is part of a recent $75-million investment NewWave committed to bring advanced communications services to the rural customers in its footprint.

The opening of the Washington local office in 2013 was another result of this investment.
