8:04 a.m. - A resident reported to police that someone took a brick and tried to smash a window on a vehicle parked at 6 NE 7th St.

12:54 p.m. - An employee at Chuckles at 201 NE 5th St. reported someone pumped $10.13 in gas and drove off without paying.

3:00 p.m. - A man reported someone stole his 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee out of his garage at 511 SW 1st St.

1:28 a.m. - Police received about 10 reports of power outages in the area of 3484 Old Highway 50.


6:52 p.m. - An employee at Chuckles at 201 NE 5th St. reported 2 incidents of people pumping gas and driving off without paying. One was for $40.57 and the other $15.00.

8:29 p.m. - Police received a report from Chuckles at 201 NE 5th that a white BMW had driven off without paying for $25.01 in gas.

1:04 p.m. - A woman reported that she had just returned home from having a baby and that while she was gone someone went into her home and took a 50-inch flat screen television, a play station game, and $30 in cash.



5:12 - A caller on SR 57 N. reported a horse and emu were loose.

1:55 p.m. - A caller on CR 100 E. reported vandalism to a vehicle.


Joshua Elder, 27, Richland, Ind., was arrested Wednesday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department on a warrant for failure to appear for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated .15 percent or more and driving without a license. Bond was set at $5,000.
