---- — Daviess Community Hospital recorded the hospital’s first birth of 2014 at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1. Sadie Jordyn Elizabeth Cooper, daughter of Farrah Cooper and Jordan Jones of Princeton, made her debut weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measuring 19 inches long.
Sadie has three siblings at home ages 6, 5 and 4 years old. Grandparents are David Jones of Washington, Gayla Mose of Winslow, Kevin Nelson of Princeton, Melissa Nelson of Washington, and James Boyer or Portland, Ore.
Mother and baby are doing fine even though Sadie’s arrival was a little ahead of schedule. “Dr. Frances had planned to induce labor on the 1st, but my water broke on New Year’s Eve,” said Farrah. “Sadie had her own plan for arrival.”
In honor of being the first baby born in 2014 at Daviess Community Hospital, nurses presented the baby with a wagon filled with numerous gifts including diapers, outfits, first aid kit, comb/brush and a teddy bear.
There were 510 babies born at Daviess Community Hospital during 2013. Deliveries have consistently exceeded 500 for the past few years.
