---- — Members of the Washington Redevelopment Commission met briefly Thursday to elect officers for 2014.
Jeff McDonald was re-elected president of the commission and Tom Tucker was re-elected vice president.
Jim Pearson was appointed as secretary and replaces Ray McAtee. George Qualley was named the commisson’s appointment for the Downtown Development Zoning District.
In other business, the commission voted to allow the clerk- treasurers office to file the required reports to the state four times each year. The clerk-treasurer’s office would file the reports on behalf of the redevelopment commission and report the findings back to the commission in a timely manner. The move was necessary because only the clerk-treasurer’s office has access to much of the information required in the reports.
