---- — Patty Ball has announced her candidacy for the Republican nomination for Daviess County Auditor.
Ball, a deputy in the Daviess County Auditor’s office since 2009, is seeking to fill the office currently held by Gail Doades, who is term limited and cannot seek another term. In announcing her candidacy, Ball noted her desire to serve the citizens of Daviess County.
“It is my desire to serve the county while working closely with other elected officials to benefit all of us living in Daviess County,” said Ball. “I look forward to the opportunity to meet and talk with people in the county during the upcoming campaign.”
Ball said the experience she has gained from working with Doades, who was named the 2013 Indiana Auditor of the Year by the Association of Indiana Counties, has been invaluable.
“It has been my privilege to have worked under the mentoring of Gail. She has provided opportunities for education and training along with meeting with many state officials to help prepare me for the challenging responsibilities of the office,” said Ball.
Patty and her husband Marty have lived in Washington since 1981. She previously worked for Williams Bros. Healthcare and Walmart pharmacy and holds a national certification as a Pharmacy Technician. She is currently enrolled in the AIC Institute for Excellence in County Government.
Her husband is employed with Grain Processing Corporation, and they are members of Bethany Christian Church.
The Balls have one daughter, Mandy Ash. Mandy and her husband Aaron Ash are both employed with the Barr-Reeve School Corporation and live in Montgomery with their two children, Emily and Eli.
