WASHINGTON —

A Washington couple was arrested by city police Monday after they broke into a home.

Around 7:25 p.m., officers were called to 506 N.E. Fifth St. after a caller said there was someone in his parents' home. When officers arrived, they found Mark Goddard, 31, Washington and a woman who told officers she was Kaitlin V. Franklin. The woman turned out to be Amie Soltermann, 40, Washington. The two came in through an unsecured basement door.

Both Goddard and Soltermann were charged with residential entry, criminal trespassing and possession of a syringe. Soltermann was further charged with false informing and a petition to revoke a suspended sentence and two writs of attachment.

Goddard was being held at the Daviess County Security Center on $7,000 bond while Soltermann was being held on $10,655 bond.
