Monday

7:45 a.m. - A Daviess County dispatcher relayed a call of a pregnant Hispanic woman at 802 W. Walnut St., Apt. 1. The woman had another small child and other caregivers could not be reached. The child and mother were taken to Daviess Community Hospital.

Sunday

6:02 p.m. - Melissa Craig said a white male was around 312N SR 57 with a pellet gun. The male could not be found.

2:09 p.m. - Alana McFarland, 405 E. South St., reported a break-in attempt at her apartment. No entry was gained.

Saturday

7:14 p.m. - Female caller said three female juveniles were vandalizing a car wash on SR 57S. The juveniles were told to go home.

7:13 p.m. - An employee of Walmart, 100 Bypass 50 Plaza, said a female was in custody for shoplifting. Charges will be filed on the female.

2:43 p.m. - An employee of Walmart reported a female shoplifter. The female was taken into custody.

12:39 p.m. - A female caller said a dog was shot and killed by a resident on N.W. Fourth Street. An investigation was begun.

10:58 a.m. - An employee of Chuckle’s, 201 N.E. Fifth St., reported a drive-off from Friday evening. The driver was identified on video and returned to pay for the gas.

Friday

11:35 p.m. - A vehicle fire was reported on S.E. Fourth Street. The fire was put out, but an owner could not be contacted.

8:01 p.m. - An employee of Chuckle’s, 201 N.E. Fifth St., reported a drive-off worth $40 in gas.

5:57 p.m. - A male caller reported a hit-and-run accident at Cherry Tree Plaza. A report was completed.

COUNTY REPORT

Sunday

8:21 p.m. - Cynthia Cato reported a hit-and-run accident with injuries near 2531W 50N. She was taken to Daviess Community Hospital for minor injuries. A minor accident report was being completed and a search is on for a black Pontiac Sunfire with driver’s side headlight damage.

4:34 p.m. - A caller found possible methamphetamine equipment near the Sandy Hook Curve. A deputy was contacted.

3:06 p.m. - An employee of Quizno’s, 1826S SR 57, said a homeless female was trying to contact people but could not get anyone to respond. The woman received a voucher.

7:44 a.m. - A caller reported metal theft near 408E 300S. The metal was recovered from a neighbor’s house. Deputies told both parties not to communicate with each other.

Saturday

8:08 a.m. - Multiple callers reported a red Dodge truck driving recklessly heading east on U.S. 50. Deputies caught up with the truck later at an accident. A person was taken to Daviess Community Hospital and an accident report is being completed.

ARRESTS

Rachel E. Gilley, 26, Vincennes, was arrested by city police Friday on an out-of-state warrant. She was being held at the Daviess County Security Center without bond.

Melida Ramirez-Varela, 44, Washington, was arrested by city police Friday for operating a vehicle while never receiving a license. She was released Saturday on $2,000 bond.

Eymard J. Ramos, 36, Washington, was arrested by city police Friday for domestic battery and strangulation. He was released Saturday on $10,000 bond.

Amy B. Edwards, 42, Washington, was arrested by city police Friday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a controlled substance. She was released Saturday on $2,000 bond.

Kevin D. Flax, 26, Washington, was arrested by city police Friday for failure to register as a sex offender and possession of a stun gun by a serious violent felon. He was being held without bond.

Erica M. Garcia, 20, Washington, was arrested by city police Friday for driving while suspended with a prior arrest. She was released Friday on $2,000 bond.

John R. Ward, 30, Washington, was arrested by city police Friday for operating a vehicle while never receiving a license. He was being held without bond.

Daniel I. Callahan, 30, Plainville, was arrested by city police Saturday for possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was being held without bond.

Kevin D. Laywer, 50, Plainville, was arrested by city police Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a controlled substance, two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person and possession of methamphetamine. He was being held without bond.

Rusty A. Halbert, 48, Washington, was arrested by city police Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, endangering a person and operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a controlled substance. He was being held on $4,000 bond.
