Even though the bulk of rural residents in Daviess County live along paved roads, the dust control project is a popular one. “We get 120 to 170 requests every year,” said Cornelius. “We use our chip and seal machine and a special crew that does that work. We try to get it done by the end of May, so that we can move on to other projects.”
For residents to get on the list for the work, even if they are using a private contractor, they need to contact the Daviess County Highway Department Office at 812-444-5798 before May 30.
