Indiana Department of Transportation crews began patching potholes along SR 257 in Pike and Daviess counties this week. Potholes began over the winter and harsh conditions have taken its toll on the roadway.
Maintenance crews began patching the roadway near the junction of SR 356 and have been moving north to reach the US 50 Bypass. Once there, crews will then move to the southbound lane and work their way south to the SR 356 junction.
This repair is not the final fix for the roadway. As weather and materials allow, INDOT will then mill off the top layer of the roadway and re-seal the roadway. It is anticipated this work will be completed October of this year.
INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone.
