“The Day of Caring is part of what makes Daviess County a great place to live, work and play. We are better together,” she said.
To obtain volunteers, the Day of Caring committee asks Daviess County businesses and organizations to allow their employees to volunteer for all or part of the day. Volunteers will work together in groups and individually on specific projects to get jobs done.
The Daviess County Community Foundation sponsors Day of Caring, covering the cost of the t-shirts and breakfast. Senior and Family Services, a United Way agency, prepares and serves lunch to the volunteers. “Without them, we couldn't do this,” Sobecki said.
