Due to a photographer's error on Tuesday, the caption in the photo listed as new 4-H officers and scholarship winners was actually Daviess County Extension Homemakers Annual Achievement Meeting. We regret any confusion.

VFW Aux to hold meeting

The Cissell-Jackman Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 3321 will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the post home for election and nomination of officers. All members are encouraged to attend. Anyone interested in holding an office but unable to attend should submit a letter of interest.

City Council meeting Monday

The Washington City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers, 200 Harned Ave. Items included on the agenda: ordinance establishing I-69 corridor zone district.

The Board of Public Works and Safety will meet immediately following the council meeting. Items included on the agenda: permits and claims; street closing for Rail Fest on May 18; chipper purchase.

Commissioners meet Monday

Daviess County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Monday in the Commissioners' Room at the courthouse. Items included on the agenda: weights and measures inspector; settlement agreement and partial release of claims; amendment to health plan; community corrections grant.

BBQ in Sandborn

Sandborn Park Board will sponsor a barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sandborn Community Center, with barbecued pork on a bun, potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw, drinks and desserts.

Musical to be rescheduled

The musical, "Spend a While on the Nile" put on by the Families First Home Educators Co-Op has been postponed. A new date will be scheduled.
