Police Report



11:08 p.m. - A female caller reported a power outage on Old U.S. 50 W. Line crews responded, but were not able to restore electricity due to a faulty underground line. The line was fixed Wednesday.



7:59 a.m. - Maria D. Bedwell, 42, 1914 Ridge Lane, was driving a 2003 GMC Envoy north on SR 57 and was attempting to turn onto Hefron Street when she was hit from behind by a 2012 Toyota Camry driven Jack Ashby, Jr., 41, 2 Brady Lane. Bedwell¹s Envoy then collided with a 1998 Mack truck driven by Dwayne M. Earnest, 26, Vincennes, who was stopped on Hefron Street. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated between $10,000 to $25,000.



3:21 a.m. - A caller near St. Mary’s Road in Loogootee reported that a pole was down and grounded across St. Mary’s Rd and the downed pole was putting pressure on another pole located just north of the highway. REMC was notified.

3:27 a.m. - A caller on Old U.S. 50 W  reported a tree down across the highway before the Perdue turn off.

4:03 a.m. - A caller on U.S. 50 E reported a that trees and wires are down and a tree was on fire.

4:39 a.m. - A caller on U.S. 50 E. reported a tree partially covering the highway near the White River Bridge.

5:41 a.m. - A caller near CR 100N and Hoefling Rd. reported a large limb covering the road and lots of debris.

6:05 a.m. - A caller near 1065E 100N reported a tree covering nearly half of the road.

6:34 a.m. - A caller on W. Main St., Odon, reported that the back door to the Odon Journal was wide-open. The door was secured.

6:48 a.m. - A caller on 10126E 1275N reported a tree limb was hanging over the roadway and they were not able to pull it down. The county highway department was contacted.
