WASHINGTON — CITY REPORT

Tuesday

11:08 p.m. - A female caller reported a power outage on Old U.S. 50 W. Line crews responded, but were not able to restore electricity due to a faulty underground line. The line was fixed Wednesday.

CITY ACCIDENT

Tuesday

7:59 a.m. - Maria D. Bedwell, 42, 1914 Ridge Lane, was driving a 2003 GMC Envoy north on SR 57 and was attempting to turn onto Hefron Street when she was hit from behind by a 2012 Toyota Camry driven Jack Ashby, Jr., 41, 2 Brady Lane. Bedwell¹s Envoy then collided with a 1998 Mack truck driven by Dwayne M. Earnest, 26, Vincennes, who was stopped on Hefron Street. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated between $10,000 to $25,000.

Tuesday

3:21 a.m. - A caller near St. Mary’s Road in Loogootee reported that a pole was down and grounded across St. Mary’s Rd and the downed pole was putting pressure on another pole located just north of the highway. REMC was notified.

3:27 a.m. - A caller on Old U.S. 50 W  reported a tree down across the highway before the Perdue turn off.

4:03 a.m. - A caller on U.S. 50 E reported a that trees and wires are down and a tree was on fire.

4:39 a.m. - A caller on U.S. 50 E. reported a tree partially covering the highway near the White River Bridge.

5:41 a.m. - A caller near CR 100N and Hoefling Rd. reported a large limb covering the road and lots of debris.

6:05 a.m. - A caller near 1065E 100N reported a tree covering nearly half of the road.

6:34 a.m. - A caller on W. Main St., Odon, reported that the back door to the Odon Journal was wide-open. The door was secured.

6:48 a.m. - A caller on 10126E 1275N reported a tree limb was hanging over the roadway and they were not able to pull it down. The county highway department was contacted.

1:27 p.m. - A caller on SR 58E in Elnora reported a semi-truck driving at high speeds.

2:50 p.m. - A caller at 6957N 550E Montgomery, reported some items had been stolen from the property.

8:34 p.m. - A caller near U.S. 50 E and the I-69 exit reported that two subjects are sitting on the side of the road trying to get a ride.

9:48 p.m. - A caller the Conservation Club reported she saw a male and female in a Jeep trying to break into the gate of the club.

Wednesday

2:13 a.m. - A caller on CR 550N advised a vehicle is engulfed in flames. The Plainville Fire Department was dispatched and the vehicle was considered a total loss.

4:30 a.m. - A caller near the Maysville Church reported a limb down with lines in entangled.

COUNTY ACCIDENT

Monday

9:18 a.m. - Jesse G. Ellis, 32, 414 SE Sixth St., was driving a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria west on E. Nat’l Highway and was attempting to turn on to a private drive near Park Road when he was struck from behind by a 1998 Dodge Stratus driven by Collin W. Allen, 19, 504 E. Maple St. Both Ellis and his passenger, Shannon M. Willoughby, 29, Elnora, complained of back pain. A passenger in Allen’s vehicle, Terry L. Warren, 28, Bloomington, also had back pain.

Allen was cited for false and fictitious registration after the license plate for the vehicle did not match records. He also did not have insurance because he told deputies he was in the process of purchasing the vehicle. Damage was estimated between $10,000 and $25,000.

ARRESTS

Wayne Ellis, 54, Elnora, was arrested Monday by Indiana State Police on four counts of forgery, four counts of theft, four counts of deception, and three counts of fraud. He was released on $5,000 bond.
