4:25 p.m. - An accident was reported near S.W. Fifth and Mound streets. Two people were taken to hospital. No other information was available at press time.
12:50 a.m. - A caller at 900 S. Meridian St. at Shepherd Hills reported a gold four-door truck had backed into a green Monte Carlo. The truck left the scene of the accident.
7:48 a.m. - Darla Miles, 923 Jersey St., reported her 2008 red Buick Lacrosse had been stolen from her residence after 8 p.m. Thursday. Miles said her purse and cell phone were in the car and the vehicle had OnStar but it was not activated at the time.
10:15 p.m. - The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department advised a 1998 red Dodge Neon that had been involved in an accident at 4:57 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 50 and SR 57 had been reported as stolen. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department had been contacted by the Petersburg Police Department who had located the driver, Christopher A. Sumner, 27, Petersburg but not the vehicle. Sumner told officers he had left the car, which sustained between $5,000 and $10,000 in damages during the accident, at Shepherd Hills. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle at Shepherd Hills but did find the vehicle at Pine Apartments.
2:42 p.m. - A caller on Seventh Street reported that someone had tried to tamper with his son’s moped and the ignition had been messed with. Extra patrol was requested.
9:57 p.m. - A caller at 2330W 450S reported several subjects were attempting to break into the residence. The subjects at the residence had the owner of the residence on the phone and the subjects had a key.
9:06 p.m. - A caller on CR 550N just east of CR 775E reported a property damage accident. The vehicle had turned on its side but no injuries were reported.
6:18 p.m. - A caller on U.S. 50E reported he was behind a vehicle that had left the scene of an accident.
5:52 p.m. - A caller near 1717 SR 57N reported a property damage accident.
4:57 p.m. - A caller on U.S. 50W reported an accident. A tow truck was called for the vehicle that had four flat tires and a dead battery. A state report was filed.
2:42 p.m. - A caller on CR 450S reported someone was breaking into his house.
12:39 p.m. - A caller at 7716N 900E reported a trailer had been stolen.
7:38 a.m. - A caller on U.S. 50E reported a reckless driver heading east.
3:42 p.m. - Ted Miller, 59, Paoli, was driving a 2006 International Semi owned by Polecat Partners of Paoli on U.S. 50 near CR 1250E. Miller’s liquefied petroleum gas truck was following behind a quad axle truck hauling livestock and a school bus was in front of the livestock truck. The school bus slowed to make a left turn onto CR 1250E but Miller did not see the livestock truck slowing down or the truck’s brake lights. Miller swerved right to avoid contact with the livestock truck and went into a ditch rolling his truck and tanker onto its right side. The driver of the livestock truck pulled over to see if Miller was OK but left the scene. No information on the livestock truck was available but Miller said he did not believe the truck had working brake lights.
Christina R. Clark, 34, Washington, was arrested Thursday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department for residential entry. Bond was set at $2,500.
Lyndon N. Graber, 21, Odon, was arrested Thursday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Bond was set at $2,000.
Rick R. Kaiser, 53, Loogootee, was arrested Thursday by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department for possession of methamphetamine greater than 30 grams. No bond was set.
